The SU carburettor was the brainchild of the late George Herbert Skinner, born 1872. In 1906, he took out a full patent for his first design for the carburettor. After some years fitting and tuning this design to individual cars, the SU Company Ltd. was registered in 1910. By 1911 the accounts show Wolesley and Rover were both regular customers.
SU has been building and designing carburettors for the past century, introducing a number of important developments in the technology. Today, they still build high quality carburettors that are made to last.
